the most unalike brothers
they were the most unalike brothers
they didn’t know that much about each other
where one was fast, the other was slow
and they had different paths to go
they were the most unalike brothers
they didn’t care that much about each other
where the first was still, the second was loud
with different ways of hanging about
they were the most unalike brothers
they could’ve learned a lot from each other
where the first was tall, the second was small
though their height wasn’t different at all
they were the most unalike brothers
they didn’t know that much about each other
where one was mad, the other was insane
but they lived their life as a different game

sleep

sleep
wake me! i fell asleep long ago
wake me! before the deep winter’s cold
kiss me! so i will rise up from my slumber
kiss me! and release me from this spell
i’ve been cursed by a needle’s sting
and i shall sleep a hundred years or more
so won’t you wake me?
wake me! i’m still asleep in my darkened room
wake me! and free me from the castle walls
save me! untangle me from these thorns
save me! make the roses bloom once more
nothing moves, time stands still
until i’m freed from this curse
so won’t you wake me?
wake me! why am i still asleep?
wake me! i can’t stand these evil dreams
wake me! release me, free me from this spell!
wake me! make the world turn again
i’ve been cursed by a needle’s sting
and i shall sleep a thousand years or more
so won’t you wake me?

chapter five

chapter five
this is chapter five
the man is still alive
and he still writes on
he coped with number four
as he did three times before
and he still writes on
the story comes out straight
he turns another page
in his book of life
he’s far from having fixed
the plot of number six
he sees no reason to
the book ain’t finished yet
the words assemble in his head
but there’s a missing piece
the meaning isn’t clear
but he seems to know his way
and he won’t stand still
this is chapter five
the man is still alive
and on and on he writes
he coped with number four
as he did three times before
and he still writes on
the book ain’t finished yet
the words assemble in his head
but there’s a missing piece
the meaning isn’t clear
but he seems to know his way
and he won’t stand still

rise and fall

rise and fall
i kissed my father, kissed my mother
on the day i learnt to speak my first words
my first words
i killed my father, killed my mother
on the day i taught them speaking my words
my words
i kissed my father, kissed my mother
on the day they gave me clothes to wear
to wear
i killed my father, killed my mother
on the day i threw their clothes away
i threw ’em away
please, please forgive me
i just had no choice
the day had come when you would fall
while i would rise
i kissed my father, kissed my mother
on the day they brought me bread to eat
to eat
i killed my father, killed my mother
on the day i brought them their food
i brought their food
please, please forgive me
i just had no choice
the day had come when you would fall
while i would rise

that must be it

that must be it
i’m standing shivering waiting for the bus
rain is pouring down on me and soaks my clothes
i’m standing on the wrong side
on the wrong side of the road
that must be it
i’m hitching while my thumb gets cold
seems i’ll be waiting for a lift until i’m old
i’m standing on the wrong side
on the wrong side of the road
that must be it
i’m searching for a good view of the sea
but every time i see another wall in front of me
i’m looking on the wrong side
on the wrong side of the road
that must be it
i’m following the road to happiness
but all i get are wounded feet and tiredness
i’m walking on the wrong side
on the wrong side of the road
that must be it

here and now
04:21
|
|||
here and now
we dig the grounds of our ancestors
in search of their remains
we want to know how they once lived
of their happiness and pain
but we only scratch the surface
of our own identity still
and it seems to me we always will
we search for life beyond the human race
we search for some small trace
we conquered the moon
then headed for the stars
we’ll soon reach outer space
but we can’t see the horizon
of our own identity
and hey hey! i’m sure we never will
we must not forget ourselves
in this scientific show
we are living in this world
and we’ve still to find out how
we’re not made to live forever
our life is here and now
bigger, faster, better, best
we go for superlatives
the perfect look, the perfect face
technology advances
but nothing is as perfect
as our pure life itself
and hey hey! i hope it never will
we must not forget ourselves...
we know so much about the origin of life
we know the past and look out for future times
we know so much about the earth and all that is around
but we know next to nothing of what’s it all about

gone
03:44
|
|||
gone
one day there will rise a star
shining brightly from afar
one day will set the final sun
one day i’ll be dead and gone
lay me on a flower bed
with yellow roses ’round my head
and as the fire burns my bones
there shall i end in smoke
throw my ashes to the wind
let them fly across the sea
i will always be with you
i shall be the air you breathe
will you miss me like the moon?
miss me every now and then?
will you miss me like the sun
love me when i’m dead and gone?

ordinary day
03:38
|

ordinary day
he got out of bed at half past seven
drank another coffee black and sweet
he left the house with briefcase and brolly
he caught the bus at five to eight
for yet another ordinary day
just like every other, an ordinary day
he sat down at his office chair at nine
began his boring job, but he couldn’t complain
he did his work from nine to five
he took the bus, so he arrived
at home at ten past six as every day
like any other ordinary day
he had supper, then he watched tv
until eleven, then he went to sleep
when he was young he’d had high ideals
but now he can’t remember how that feels
because now he leads an ordinary life
nothing special, an ordinary life
